Oracle transformation using SAP Signavio at real estate developer

“bpmd’s Signavio expertise helped us establish a scalable SAP Signavio framework initiating our BPM journey as well as define the desired end state processes to de-risk our Oracle transformation and standardise  operations across a large portfolio of projects.”

Background

A large real estate developer was implementing Oracle Primavera across its product lifecycle management (PLM) environment. PLM covered the full project lifecycle, from early planning and design through construction and final handover. The organisation needed a clear, consistent way of working that could support complex projects at scale.

At the time, many PLM activities relied on manual and paper based processes. Key development and construction processes were not standardised, and information often moved slowly between Development, Design, and Construction teams. This created risk, delays, and limited visibility as the business prepared for a major system transition.

Challenges and Opportunities

  • Oracle Primavera was being rolled out across PLM.
  • Processes spanned the entire project lifecycle, increasing complexity.
  • Heavy reliance on manual and paper based ways of working.
  • Key development and construction processes were not standardised.
  • Siloed information flow between Development, Design, and Construction teams.

These challenges also created an opportunity to define a single, clear way of working that could reduce risk, improve control, and support long term operational excellence.

Our Approach

bpmd worked closely with business leadership to design a practical, end to end PLM process framework.

We set up and configured SAP Signavio as the central process platform. Together with the business, we designed an end to end PLM process structure that reflected how work should flow across planning, design, construction, and handover.

To drive adoption, we translated the end to end process model into clear, user oriented navigation. This made it easier for teams to find, understand, and follow the right processes in their day to day work.

Using SAP Signavio Process Manager, we defined the To Be way of working and embedded KPIs to support ongoing performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

Results

  • Reduced risk of transition to Oracle Primavera.
  • Over 70 processes standardised across the PLM lifecycle.
  • Approval cycles simplified and automated.
  • A clear new way of working agreed and made accessible to the business.
  • The organisation now has a consistent, transparent PLM process landscape that supports system change, improves collaboration across teams, and provides a strong foundation for future improvement.
